The Giraffe can browse 16-20 hours a day on the leaves, twigs, bark, flowers and fruit of more than 60 plant species. Its favorite tree is the Whistling Thorn Acacia. They eat plants during the dry season that are ignored during the wet season. They can go without water for several months if fresh browse is available.
