"My Own Private Jungle Gym!"
Mountain Gorillas are far more placid and inactive than chimpanzees. They normally browse, rest, travel, browse, rest, etc. During a day, they spend about 30% of the time feeding, 30% traveling and 40% resting. This particular group was resting on the ground when we reached them. During the hour we spent together, we only saw the silverback when he lazily lifted his head to make sure we were keeping a respectable distance. This juvenile, however, kept us company the whole time.
