"The Savannah Trickster!"
A Jackal pounces on a small animal in the typical hunting behavior of many canids. They are particularly effective predators of young Thomson's gazelle fawns. They often follow hunting lions and boldly sneak tidbits from the kill. The black-backed jackal will hide excess meat by burying it dispersed over an area. It is well represented in folklore as an 'Artful Dodger'.
