Black-backed Jackals
"Two at a Time!"
Cooperative hunting is important for Silverback Jackals. Pairs were found to be 3 times more successful than individuals in killing Thomson's gazelle fawns. Members of a family will also share larger food items and transport food back to the den for later regurgitation to pups or a lactating mother.
