"Now I Kneel Me down to Eat.."
Sometimes I Just Can't Stand Up!!
Warthogs normally kneel to graze, and usually rise hindquarters first. Calluses begin to develop on the carpal (wrist) joints in the embryo. Warthogs prefer short, tender grasses, plucking them with their lips. If the grasses are longer, they are pulled out of the ground with the teeth. Warthogs dig for roots during the dry season using their hard-edged snouts.
