"A Sea of Stripes"
The Family Equiidae has a single Genus (Equus) which contains 7 or 8 species of asses, horses and zebras. There are 3 living species of zebras separated by the size and shape of the ears, body size and stripe patterns. The most prominent form is the Plains (Grant's) Zebra (Equus burchelli boehmi). The other two species are the Mountain Zebra (Equus zebra) and Grevy's Zebra (Equus grevyi).
